Fees & appointments
The Australian Psychological Society recommended hourly fee for psychologists in 2008 is $200 per consultation hour. Our fees are $160 per consultation hour for appointments with associates and $175 per consultation hour for appointments with Lissa Johnson.A proportion of these fees may be redeemable from your private health insurance, depending on your health plan. You may also be eligible to claim a proportion of your fees from Medicare, if you have a referral and a "care plan" from your doctor, and your doctor has assessed you to be suffering from a condition that is rebatable by Medicare.
Appointments are typically 50-60 minutes long. The initial appointment is longer, usually an hour and a half, to allow plenty of time to gain a detailed understanding of you and your needs. A thorough initial consultation is important, to ensure that subsequent sessions are relevant and helpful to you. This initial session is the same charge as a standard 50-60 minute consultation.
When you attend your first appointment, we will discuss your goals and expectations. In subsequent sessions we will generate a flexible plan that you are comfortable with. To help you get the most out of your appointments, we will periodically review the progress of your therapy, with reference to your goals.

Please note that a cancellation policy applies to all appointments. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will attract a cancellation fee.
